Pins leave holes in leather and vinyl. They bend in thick layers, slip out of slippery fabric, and find your fingers at the worst moment. There is a better way to hold fabric together.
Clover Wonder Clips are small sprung clips made for sewing. They grip several layers firmly without piercing anything, and they have one detail a stationery clip does not: a flat base, so your work sits level on the machine bed as it feeds under the foot.

Clover's Tool School video shows what the clips do and how to use them.

Six jobs where clips beat pins
Quilt binding
Fold the binding over the edge and clip it every few centimetres. It stays exactly where you put it while you stitch.
Leather, vinyl and laminated fabric
A pinhole in these never closes. A clip leaves no mark at all.
Bags and thick seams
Several layers of canvas and interfacing will bend a pin. A clip holds them without effort.
Knits and jersey
Edges that curl and stretch stay matched without being pulled out of shape.
Delicate fabrics
Silk, satin and fine lawn can show every pin mark. Clip inside the seam allowance instead.
Hems and piping
Hold a turned hem or a line of piping in place and remove each clip as it reaches the foot.

No pinholes, no pricked fingers

From KES 1,800 a pack
Sprung fabric clips with a flat base that sits level on the machine bed. We stock them in Standard and Mini sizes, in several pack sizes.
See Wonder ClipsThree tips for using them
Clip with the flat side down, so the work glides over the machine bed.
Take each clip off just before it reaches the presser foot. Never sew over one.
Use Mini clips for small pieces and tight curves, and Standard for everything else.
Do you still need pins?
Yes, for anything in the middle of the fabric, such as a dart, a pocket or a pattern piece. Clips only reach in from an edge. Most sewists end up using both.
