Clover Cable Stitch Holders - Knitting
Short stitch holders for working cables in knitting. Slip the stitches to be crossed onto the holder, leave them at the front or back of the work, knit the following stitches from the left needle, then knit the held stitches back in. That crossing is what forms a cable or twist.
The bend in the middle of the holder keeps the stitches seated while both hands are on the needles, so they do not slide off the way a straight double-pointed needle allows.
