Videos are wonderful, until your stitches look nothing like the ones on the screen and there is nobody to ask why. Ten minutes with a tutor sitting beside you can untangle what a week of rewinding never will.
That is why we run weekly classes in crochet, knitting, embroidery and cross stitch at our shop at Muthaiga Mini Market, for adults and for children. Complete beginners are welcome, and so are experienced makers who are stuck on a pattern.
Why learn in a class
Someone watches your hands
Most beginner problems come from how the yarn or hook is held. A tutor spots it in seconds; a video never can.
Mistakes get fixed on the spot
Dropped a stitch or lost count? You find out why before it costs you three rows.
You actually finish
A set time each week keeps a project moving, and other makers keep you going.
The right materials are right there
Classes are in our shop, so the yarn, hooks and threads you need are on the shelves around you.

Children start embroidery on large-count Aida fabric, where the holes are big enough to see easily, so they get a finished piece quickly. Learning alongside other young makers is the quickest way past the first tricky stitches, and the Tuesday class makes a good school holiday activity.
